The World Hello Day started in 1973 by Brian and Micheal McCormack in to the conflict between the two competing countries, Egypt and Israel. Since then, World Hello Day has been observed by people in 180 countries. People around the world is using it as a means of epressing their concern for world peace.

A lot of supporters for this event have sent their hello letters to the World Hello Day website. Some of the famous personalities include Henry Ford, Queen Elizabeth II, David Rockefeller, and Mother Teresa among others. In addition to these people, 31 Nobel Prize winners are among the people who have realized the value of World Hello Day as a tool for bridging gaps and fostering peace.
In its 37th year of celebration, the theme "Greet Ten People for Peace" was adapted hoping to draw public attention to the most used greeting word "Hello". A simple greeting of hello followed by a genuine smile that comes from a heart can spark hope and happiness to someone experiencing failures in life.
However, the celebration should not only limit us to ten people but to other people as well. Neither, we should not only limit ourselves to this day alone greeting other people "hello". It would be better if we can make everyday a World Hello Day to ignite a genuine interest and sincere care for one another.
The more people we can infect by our "hellos", the better our world would be for us all. HELLO!
