UITF Equity Performance (2nd Quarter 2008)

Equity Funds are primarily invested in stocks while Balanced Funds are invested in a basket of both stocks and bond funds.

They have been known to produce the best yields among all the funds in either Mutual Funds or Unit Investment Trust Funds. BUT not now...

They were the worst performing funds as of now as surging inflation brought about by high food and oil prices and a slowdown of the US economy brought about by the subprime mortgage crisis led these funds to staggering losses.

Below is an attached file for the performance of both UITF Peso-Denominated Equity and Balanced Funds for the 2nd Quarter 2008 (June 30)

Equity and Balanced Funds Performance (2Q 2008)

Please note that future performace is not dependent on present performance but the yields will give us a measure of how the funds are going.

You can see from the table that PNB Mabuhay Prestige was the only one that registered an income while all others were at a loss. I don't know the reason but one thing I know was that they were the most recent entry which was just launched last January 2008.
